Bose has just released the new QuietComfort 25 (QC25) headphone which supersedes the QuietComfort 15. The QC15 has been discontinued, however, we have been told that Bose and Bose authorized retailers worldwide still have a large stock of QC15s that will continue to be sold at discounted prices until all stock has been exhausted. We have had a chance to examine the QC25s and can tell you that our current microphone is not compatible with the new headphones. I will be developing a new microphone for the QC25, but it may take some time before it is ready and available....

On February 12th, 2014, Mike Lackey lost his battle with cancer. He was diagnosed in June of 2013 with a rare and aggressive form of gall bladder cancer. Unable to be surgically removed, Mike underwent extensive chemotherapy and numerous consultations in his short but instense fight to beat the cancer. Unfortunately, the tumor grew quickly and all therapies were unsuccessful in slowing it's growth. In the middle of January, all options had been exhausted and Mike chose to return home and spend the remainder of his days with his family and friends. Mike was a powerful influence everywhere he went...

After three years, the UFlyMike headset is now legal for use by United Airlines pilots. Thank you to all our current and future United Airlines pilot customers for your patience and understanding while this issue was resolved. As noted by the Update, the UFlyMike headset must be used in its' TSO certified configuration. For more information about the TSO configuration and getting your headset TSO certified, please see our TSO Process page. Below is the official Central Air Safety Committee Update that updates Communication 2009-12 describing the use of the UFlyMike at United Airlines:

The UFlyMike headset is now legal for use at Southwest Airlines! You will need to make sure your headset has all of the required components and has been through our TSO process before using it. The FAA has issued another TSO Authorization for the UFlyMike Aviation Headset using the Bose QuietComfort 15 (QC-15) Headphones, and the Westone UM1 Earbuds. If you fly for an air carrier that requires use of TSO'd headsets, contact UFlyMike for details.
